It goes without saying (maybe) that I am an avid reader. One book that I absolutely loved growing up was Dealing with Dragons by Patricia Wrede. I still think it is one of the best dragon books I have ever read, and it probably shaped a lot of what I think dragons should be.
Writer
I have been writing and making up stories since I could form words into sentences, and the first story I can remember writing was about a turtle. I don't remember what happened to the little guy, but I can remember the feeling of having pages staple together. That was lo these many years ago in kindergarten.
Editor
There is a huge difference between copyediting and developmental editing, and I love it all. That part of my brain didn't really click for a long time, but when it did, it was like the whole world of revision opened up. Yay!
Educator
I've been an educator in many different ways for many years, ranging from formal classroom instruction to casual community ed. While I love talking about the subjects I'm passionate about, I also love being able to spark that joy in others as they grow their skills.
